Alfalfa: Also known as Medicago Sativa this member of the pea family is a gentle tonifier, restorative and nutritive herb. The leaves and flowers contain a variety of vitamins and minerals which build strength and vitality in weakened or anemic conditions.

Safety: Avoid alfalfa if using blood thinners. Eat the seeds or sprouts in moderation as they contain canavanine and/or toxic saponins.

Bilberry: Also known as Vaccinium myrtallus is a close relative to blueberry tree, this member of the heath family was known traditionally as a blood purifier and vision enhancer. Today bilberries are a recognized source protective antioxidants, diuretic, and urinary tract antiseptic. Keeps blood vessels flexible, allowing increased blood flow. It supports and strengthens collagen structures, inhibits the growth bacteria, and has anti-aging and anticarcinogenic effects. Useful for hypoglycemia, inflammation, stress anxiety, night blindness, and cataracts.

Safety: Quite safe, even in pregnancy. High doses may be mildly laxative. Interferes with iron absorption.

Black Cohosh also known as Cimicifuga Racemosa is a member of the buttercup family and native to Canada and eastern United States. Different species of this dark root are utilized for asthma and rheumatism, lowering blood pressure and cholesterol levels. Reduces mucous production and relieves menopausal symptoms menstrual cramps with back pain.

Safety: If currently on estrogen therapy, seek professional advice before taking. Should not be taken during pregnancy (until just before birth) or in the presence of chronic disease.
